Delivery information ....
We don't have a minimum order value except in December, but we do have a fixed next day postage charge of £7.95 to most of the mainland for one single item, or for many. Apart from small or very light orders we subsidise our postage charges to the tune of several thousand pounds a year and we do not charge for packaging materials. Please have a good look around our website and see if we can't tempt you further. After the first item ordered, any subsequent lines ordered are effectively post free. You can order now and delay the sending of your goods, because you set the despatch date at our checkout. We do not take payment until we pack your order just before despatch. We send out goods on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; in December we send out on Mondays too. |

Medium Burr Wood Decorative Cheeseboard or Chopping BoardFabulous, beautiful, tactile, practical and a top seller for us. These boards are all slightly different as each tree varies. Our large Burr Board above is roughly rectangular, whereas these are wider at one end than the other. Still beautiful boards.  Old Wine Barrel Oak Cheeseboard - Very Large Circular with maker's markThese cheeseboards are made from recycling the tops (called heads) of French aged oak wine barrels. Usually these platters carry either the French Tonnellerie's (cooper's) individual signature on them depicting which cooperage in France the barrel originated from or a company mark. Ideal as a chopping board permanently displayed on a kitchen counter or farmhouse table and stunning as a serving platter or cheese board. They can even be made into smart garden or conservatory tables by adding legs. Whilst they are not cheap, winemakers pay £400-500 for an oak barrel and the days of these hand-made barrels are almost finished. We think they will be collectables of the future. Sanded, oiled and finished for us by Ray in rural Somerset. 50-60cm diameter approx. Makes a fantastic wedding gift and often bought by restaurants / wine bars. These are untreated slate but if you want a slight sheen to the boards, apply a light rubbing of edible oil. This also seals the boards to some extent. Slate is a natural product with an uneven surface which may be ridged or veined, sometimes with fissures and the edges are deliberately chipped, rather than being perfectly smooth. These factors provide a pleasing rustic appearance which therefore complements a selection of artisan cheeses. Knife biscuits and cheeses not included.
