We don't have a minimum order value except in December, but we do have a fixed next day postage charge of £7.95 to most of the mainland for one single item, or for many. Apart from small or very light orders we subsidise our postage charges to the tune of several thousand pounds a year and we do not charge for packaging materials. Please have a good look around our website and see if we can't tempt you further. After the first item ordered, any subsequent lines ordered are effectively post free. You can order now and delay the sending of your goods, because you set the despatch date at our checkout. We do not take payment until we pack your order just before despatch. We send out goods on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; in December we send out on Mondays too.

Cheese Selection

We are always delighted to put together a balanced and interesting selection of the cheeses that are in perfect condition. A lovely gift or a treat for yourself ... Add a note of any types you do or don't want included, in the box 'please enter any other comment or information' during the checkout process.

We always choose what is in really good condition at the time of despatch.

We also have some specific selections if you scroll further down the page.

Sometimes we are asked: "I want to send a gift - how soon before a birthday or Christmas should I send it?" Our answer: It really depends what you are sending. Whole cheeses such as a whole Cheddar truckle or baby Stilton usually have a shelf life of three weeks or more. If you are sending a mixed selection, the soft cheeses will only last two weeks at the most. In our experience, usually recipients do not mind using the soft cheeses before the event. We often say that you should treat a cheese gift a bit like fresh flowers. One wouldn't send fresh flowers and hope for them to last for three weeks. We do sell lots of cheese related non-food gift items too.

A wedge (approximately 250g) of Vintage Poacher - long lasting flavour from this twenty month award-winning firm cheese * wedge (approximately 250g) of Old Amsterdam - matured Gouda with a granular texture and a strong, slightly sweet flavour * wedge (approximately 250g) of First Grade Stilton - blue and creamy * a Tetbury Truckle (200g) - a medium mature Double Gloucester in red wax * a quality stainless steel cheese knife with a knot pattern handle. A Normandy Camembert (250g) - soft full-flavoured, made with unpasteurised milk * wedge (approximately 250g) of Devon Oke - popular buttery-textured medium firm cheese from Okehampton * wedge (approximately 250g) of Farm Double Gloucester - delicious firm cheese with a good flavour * wedge (approximately 250g) of First Grade Stilton - blue and creamy * wedge (aproximately 250g) of Cornish Yarg - a mild cheese with an attractive covering of edible nettle leaves * a quality stainless steel cheese knife * a wooden cheese/cutting board. Will feed ten people on Election Night (or any time before ...) or one or two people several times.

A wedge (approximately 250g) of Chilli Cheddar - artisan farmhouse cheese from Gloucestershire. Labour-intensive to make and, like some Labour MPs, packs a punch * a Liberal wedge (approximately 500g) of Keens' Cheddar - this yellow flavoursome cheese has a strong following in the West Country * a wedge (approximately 250g) of Yorkshire Blue - blue and creamy and equally popular with those open to change or who have Conservative tastes * McKenzie's Scottish Oatcakes (200g) - for MPs who take the biscuit * Ramblers' Chutney - passion fruit, rosehip juice, peppers - could come in useful while listening to Parliamentary debates * Small Olivewood Board for those bored with politics.

A top quality French Reblochon (250g each) - slightly pungent soft mountain cheese * Chatel (200g) - a double cream soft cheese from Cornwall * wedge (approximately 250g) of award-winning farm Lancashire - sharp and crumbly * wedge (approximately 250g) of Double Gloucester - a mellow classic British cheese with a good flavour * wedge (approximately 250g) of Devon Blue - a delicious crumbly but creamy-tasting farm cheese * Two jars of diffferent Chutneys, (not necessarily the ones in the photograph) made using no additives or preservatives * Pistol-handled Stainless Steel Cheese Knife - useful after the cheese has been eaten.

Slate is a natural product with an uneven surface which may be ridged or veined, and the edges are deliberately chipped, rather than being perfectly smooth. These factors provide a pleasing rustic appearance which therefore complements a selection of artisan cheeses.
