NEW LINES FOR 2001 (May 2001)
Some of these products have just been launched; some are new only to us. Here's hoping you enjoy them!
In cheeses we are now selling Exmoor Jersey Blue, which is made with Jersey cows' milk near Taunton. It is an unpasteurised farmhouse blue with vegetarian rennet. The texture is soft and creamy (but firm rather than runny) and it has a strong piquant flavour.
A second cheese from near Taunton is Windwhistle Brie, which is a mild but very pleasant organically produced cheese, with vegetarian rennet. We also have available Hawes' Smoked Wensleydale, which has a moist, slightly crumbly texture, and is lightly smoked. Finally, you must try our new fresh goat cheeses, which come from central France and have a delicious firm but creamy texture - they are not overpoweringly goaty!
We have added to our extensive range of pickles and chutneys. New lines include Chillililli (a piccalilli with chilli), Real Ale Chutney, Champion's Chutney (spiced prune chutney with whisky), Bombay Banana Chutney, Apricot and Orange Chutney, and Rascal's Relish (a hot Jalapeno chilli relish).
