Hello. I'm Monty the guard dog at our cheese business. I might look harmless but I can yell really loudly and I have scared a few people in my time. Sometimes I'm allowed to use up cheese tasters which are left at the end of the day, and it's always jolly good cheese, take my word for it.
I'm a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and I was born in 1997. My dad wanted to call me 'Stilton' or 'Grommit', but my mum said she was not going to take me in the fields yelling 'Stilton'. She said that people would think she was mad (mind you, she does get mad sometimes!) so I ended up being called Monty. Their previous dog Merlin, once met Prince Charles and my dad said, "he's a King Charles, sir", which tickled them both!
I love to go out in my dad's van delivering cheese to other shops. It's great to taste other regional foods, which my dad usually buys for his lunch, and then I usually get some. Unusually for Cavaliers, I love to play. My mum and dad have always had my tribe of dog so they should know. Their last Cavaliers just watched in disgust, as balls were thrown, but not me. I regularly play on my own, throwing balls or other toys (I have a huge basket of toys) down our stairs and then I go and get them and throw them down again.
Some websites have pictures of their owners but, as I'm the most photogenic of us all, dad suggested I have my photograph on our website so people can see we're human (well canine actually). I might look like I have two tongues, but that's because I have big pink lips and a big smile.
Well, it's nearly suppertime, after which I'll be 'the full Monty'. You can always e-mail me and I'll give you silly answers to your questions about cheese, but I can tell you anything about King Charles Spaniels!
