Traditional Extra Mature Vintage Farm Cheddar Cheese made by the Keen famiily and matured for at least fourteen months. This maker often scoops the 'Best Cheddar' national and international awards and is one of England's finest makers. Lovely long-lasting flavour. Others may sell this cheese, but we make sure the age profile is right. In our view, and that of most cheesemongers, the two best Cheddar makers using unpasteurised milk are Keen and Montgomery, so shops stock one, but not both of those. We find that Keen has less blueing in the cheese as their rinds do not crack so much as Montgomery.
