We will take orders with less notice if we can, but it takes us time to get so much stock, in exactly the right condition, at the right time for your wedding.  | Cheese Wedding Cake Consultation - to feed a minimum of 100 guests
Many couples over the years have been to our tiny shop in the Cotswolds to talk about cakes for their particular event, to taste some of the cheeses we have available here and to give themselves an idea of the scale and dimensions of the cheeses. It is not always easy on a busy Saturday to devote the time to explaining all about our cakes in between serving shop customers, so we ask that you only book a consultation if you will be feeding over a hundred guests. We make a charge for a wedding consultation and this is fully deductible from the cost of any cake which is eventually ordered. Please restrict the numbers to two or three as our shop is very small. This consultation has to be arranged in advance (please give us a few days notice) by ordering this product online. Select any despatch date at the checkout and in the 'any other comments' box put "consultation on XXXX' and enter the date.We only have consultations Tuesday to Saturday as our shop is closed Sundays and Mondays. You can't really book a specific time as we have to work this around our shop business and couples travel a long way sometimes at the risk of motorway delays etc. However, please arrive before 4pm as our shop closes at 5pm. Please also add the wedding or party date and the total number of guests you expect to feed in the "any other comments" box at our checkout.We don't take wedding consulatations for December (we have a large pre-Christmas business), or January and February (we take our annual holiday usually from mid-January to mid-February), or on Bank Holiday Fridays or Saturdays.It would be helpful if you read our wedding cake information page beforehand, to avoid us answering commonly asked questions covered in that section.Please note that our consultations are for larger cakes feeding over a hundred guests - for smaller cakes please e-mail any questions you may have. We sell hundreds of our cheese wedding 'cakes' each year. We now offer cakes for Christmas based on the same idea. The garnish is not included as everyone decorates their own cake with their own ideas and the garnishes don't really travel well. This is just one of our ideas to make a cheeseboard look stunning. For more inspiration look at our Wedding Cake section or the Customer Gallery there.The reason we have a lot of repeat businesss on our website is because we only use top quality products with fabulous flavours. In this cake we use a ring of first grade Stilton from an award-winning maker, half a mature Cheddar truckle from an excellent truckle maker, and a French Brie with a rich creamy flavour. The Port and cake stand are not included in the price. Together with our subsidised next-day delivery to most parts of the UK, we don't think we can be beaten on price for this quality.This cake is approximately 7kg so will feed seventy people on a single occasion or seventeen people in four sittings. The Stilton will freeze if you have any left. This cake is for sale at a fixed price which works out at about £1.70 per head.You can order any time and when you get to the checkout, you choose the despatch date from a list of dates.  | Old Wine Barrel Oak Cheeseboard - Very Large Circular 55cm
These cheeseboards are made from recycling the tops (called heads) of aged oak wine barrels. Usually these platters carry either the French Tonnellerie's (cooper's) individual signature on them depicting which cooperage in France the barrel originated from or a company mark. On some boards the maker's mark is missing or feint, because of sanding during restoration. Ideal as a chopping board permanently displayed on a kitchen counter or farmhouse table and stunning as a serving platter or cheese board. They can even be made into smart garden or conservatory tables by adding legs. Whilst they are not cheap, winemakers pay £400-500 for a good oak barrel and the days of these hand-made barrels are almost finished. We think they will be collectables of the future. 55cm (21.5inch) diameter approx. Makes a fantastic wedding gift and often bought by restaurants / wine bars. Add any of the cheeses below to your shopping basket. Remember you can add other items such as a strong cheese knife, chutneys, pickles etc. from other parts of our shopping catalogue. When you have selected all the goods you require, go to our checkout and complete the other details we ask for. We will confirm receipt of your order by e-mail. Remember that all prices are approximate and we will make a final adjustment before we charge your credit card when we pack your order. The only item we will charge immediately is our £25 deposit.
